2 Mile Youth Run

Two Mile Youth Run
The two-mile youth race is designed for the younger generation who wish to race less than the longer five miles. This is a great opportunity to introduce children to running and to promote physical fitness to our youth!

5 Mile Race

Five Mile Race
Almost 1,000 athletes race together over a fast and flat 3,600 foot elevation course with snow-capped Mount Shasta in the background.

2014 T-Shirt Design

The 2014 Mount Shasta 4th of July t-shirt was designed by local artist Nadine Aiello as a special tribute to Dr. Jim Parker.  Her design was inspired by the iconic image of Dr. Parker running down Mount Shasta Blvd. ahead of the crowd with up-raised arms.  Nadine has superimposed the silhouette of Dr. Parker over an image of wind-blown dandelions against the backdrop of Mount Shasta.
Dr. Parker was founder of the Mount Shasta 4th of July Run/Walk in 1980 and served as race director for the next 33 years until stepping down in 2012 due to health issues.  Dr. Parker has had a tremendous impact on our community through his vision of transforming the appearance of our town and promoting community health and fitness programs.
Nadine Aiello was approached by the Mountain Runners to design this year's t-shirt because of her close association with Dr. Parker during the design and development of Parker Plaza - the crowning jewel of Dr. Parker's many years promoting downtown beautification.
