Named to Runner's World Magazine "Top
100" races, 1995, 1996, 1997
 Over 700 athletes race together over a fast and flat 3,600 foot
elevation course with snow-capped Mount Shasta in the background. You will see the
entertainment and smell the food the first mile and hear the cheers from the thousands of
walkers. Champion racing athletes from Northern California and Oregon in all categories
will be there. Beautifully carved hardwood trophies by Mark Duden are awarded to the
winners three deep in each category. The course is open for one hour to complete the five
miles, and then the Southern Pacific trains come rumbling through. Medals
will be given to all finishers. Pfizer Heart Division with special trophy
presented by Pfizer.
The age
divisions are: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44,
45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+, in both male and
female categories.
We offer four categories:
Clydesdale for men over 200 lbs
Athena for women over 150 lbs
Pfizer Heart Division
Wheelchair Race
